Professional CAP (paid work placement)

This program is offered in durations of 4 to 12 months. 50% of the program must involve full-time (25 hours per week) English study - no exceptions. The number of placements in this program is limited, and 60 days advanced registration is preferred for the best possible placement.

Stage 1:
Full-time English program. This stage must consist of at least 50% of the total program duration. Full-time English study is an integral part of the program and will enable students to develop the skills necessary for success in the global workplace. Prior to actually starting the internship students should have at minimum a high-intermediate or low-advanced level (level 6 or 7) of language proficiency. For some internships, a higher level of proficiency may be required.

Stage 2:

Following stage 1, students will begin their internship in a field related as closely as possible to their work and educational background, with improving their English language skills as the priority. Students will normally work 25 hours per week.

Depending on your language proficiency, and the duration and type of internship, stage 1 and 2 may overlap, but both will be maintained at 50% of the full program duration.

Minimum compensation for this stage averages $800 to $1000 per month.
